The Centre for Law, Technology and Society is delighted to announce that Professor Marina Pavlović has been appointed by the Government of Canada to the panel that will be leading the review of the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Acts.

The Centre for Law, Technology and Society is honoured to announce that Faculty members Dr Wolfgang Alschner and Dr Amy Salyzyn have each received an Early Researcher Award (ERA) from the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation. The ERA program provides funding to new researchers working at publicly-funded Ontario research institutions to assist them in building research teams.

The Centre for Law, Technology and Society is delighted to announce that two of its students, Uttra Gautam and Selena Lucien, were awarded a $6,000 grant from the Alex Trebek Innovation and Challenge Fund to develop an interactive pre-purchase wireless contract tool.

Students from the University of Ottawa have won the Inaugural Canadian Copyright Policy Moot organized with Canadian Heritage and Innovation, Sciences and Economic Development Canada.

The Centre for Law, Technology and Society is delighted to announce that three of its Faculty members have received tenure and are being promoted to the rank of Associate Professors: Michael Pal, Marina Pavlović, and Amy Salyzyn.

On March 20, 2018, Prof. Marina Pavlović, member of the Centre for Law, Technology and Society, appeared before the Senate of Canada's Committee on Transport and Communications.

Dr. Florian Martin-Bariteau and Véronique Newman released “Whistleblowing in Canada: A Knowledge Synthesis Report”, a new report supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

The Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC) has been granted leave to intervene before the Supreme Court of Canada in R v. Jarvis (SCC Case No. 37833) on the Interpretation of the Voyeurism Offense.
