1. Adoption de l’ordre du jour / Adoption of the Agenda

   Le vice-provost souhaite la bienvenue aux participants. Il souhaite la bienvenue à la professeure Katherine Moreau, de la Faculté d’éducation, qui était élue le 23 septembre par le Sénat. Il remercie également les deux autres nominations reçues de la Faculté de droit et la Faculté des sciences.  

   Le vice-provost procède à l’adoption de l’ordre du jour.

3. Suites aux procès-verbal / Business Arising from the Minutes  

   L’annonce d’IRCC : nous sommes toujours en attente de clarification du nombre de PAL (Lettre d’approbation provinciale LAP) que l’Université d’Ottawa recevra, particulièrement pour les études supérieures.  

   An admission deposit will be programed shortly for all international candidates in the amount of $1,000 for all programs, excluding one program which is already requesting a higher deposit. For the other few programs that were requesting a deposit of $500, the amount will automatically increase to $1,000. A meeting with the managers (administrators of the graduate studies offices) will take place next Monday to discuss the deposit implementation, a requirement for all international students admitted for May 2025 or beyond.

   L’Université, incluant les études supérieures, fera partie du Programme pilote pour les étudiants dans les communautés francophones en situation minoritaire d’IRCC. Ce programme permet 388 places additionnelles pour les étudiants provenant des pays ciblés. Ce programme permet à ces étudiants une voie d’accès pour demander la résidence permanente.  

4. Rapport du vice-provost / Vice-Provost’s Report 

   Rencontre du COÉS / OCGS: La plupart des universités ontariennes auront un dépôt pour les étudiants internationaux admis aux études supérieures.  

   Priorités 91��Ʒ���ϳԹ�: Des objectifs plus précis sont établis, en lien avec notre Transformation 2030. Ce travail est effectué à la suite de la demande du Bureau des gouverneurs, et du plan de redressement financier requis par le Ministère des collèges et universités (MCU).  

   Retention and time-to-completion are two key priorities of the SEM (Strategic Enrolment Management) Committee, and extremely important in the current context. Program revitalization will be needed.  The Vice-Provost also mentions that major program modifications are an opportunity to adjust tuition fees that are relatively lower than other programs in Ontario.  

   Increases to tri-agency award values: We have received the official confirmation from the agencies of the new amounts and retroactive payments. Students have received their new amount on September 1, while postdocs will receive the new amount retroactively shortly.  

   D’autres changements seront introduits par le conseil des trois organismes y inclus l’harmonisation de leurs programmes et la vérification du statut des étudiants autochtones.  

5. Rapport du vice-provost associé / Associate Vice-Provost’s Report  

   The Associate Vice-Provost has sent the time to completion (TTC) data for graduate programs to all faculties. The information pertaining to U15 is confidential and available for the Deans and Vice-deans’ use only. He will be meeting with the faculties to discuss the data and meet later with their Executive Committees.

   A discussion followed concerning program enhancements according to TTC data.
