Dr. Stefanie Carsley is an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa鈥檚 Faculty of Law, Common Law Section where she researches and teaches in the areas of family law, health law and tort law. Her research focuses on Canadian law and policy responses to assisted reproduction (surrogacy, in vitro fertilization, and sperm, egg and embryo donation). She is the principal investigator for a entitled 鈥淪urrogacy Laws in Canada: Exploring Intended Parents鈥 Experiences and Perspectives鈥 and a co-investigator for a SSHRC-funded study entitled 鈥淪urrogates鈥 Voices: Exploring Surrogates鈥 Experiences and Insights鈥. She has received the law faculty鈥檚 Emerging Researcher Award (2022), the Greenberg Prize for Feminist Research (2023), and the Ian Kerr Award for Excellence in Teaching (2025). She is a member of 91精品黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Centre for Health Law, Policy and Ethics and 91精品黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Public Law Centre, and is called to the Bar in Ontario.
