Destination: Family Medicine is an exciting new medical education event for high school students that involves critical thinking exercises, case studies and problem-solving, which can enhance students' analytical and critical thinking skills.
Join us to learn skills and techniques that family physicians rely on in their practice!

Destination: Family Medicine provides students in grades 9-12 with a glimpse into the diverse world of family medicine and primary care. Students will be exposed to various techniques and procedures that can help them explore potential career paths, fostering early interest in healthcare professions. As an added bonus, Destination: Family Medicine equips students with knowledge about the healthcare system, turning them into informed consumers. This understanding is valuable not only for personal health decisions but also for navigating the broader healthcare landscape.

Destination: Family Medicine is designed to empower students by offering a wide array of sessions tailored to their interests and goals. With over 20 unique experiences to choose from, students have the freedom to create their own personalized schedule, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience.

How It Works:

Browse the Session Streams: Explore our extensive list of sessions covering various topics such as military physicians, virtual reality, sports medicine, palliative care, joint injections, ER procedures, and more. Each session is crafted to provide hands-on experience and valuable insights.
     
  2. Create Your Schedule: Select the series of sessions that align with your interests and aspirations. Please note that there are limited spaces available in each group.
     
  3. Engage and Participate: Dive into each session with enthusiasm and curiosity. Our sessions are led by experts physicians and residents who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experiences.
     
  4. Connect with Peers: This event is not just about learning; it鈥檚 also an opportunity to connect with fellow students who share your interests. Build friendships, collaborate on projects, and expand your network.

Registration Information
Students (Grade 9-12) - $200 +HST

We are also offering a limited number of bursaries to help remove barriers to participation. This bursary will waive the registration fee for students who may face financial, geographic, cultural, or other attendance challenges. These participants will be known as 鈥淧rincipal鈥檚 Delegates鈥 and will receive all the same programming as every other student and will be fully integrated in the program.

To apply for a bursary, please complete this by September 21, 2025. Selected students will be notified in October.
