In twelve weeks with the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights, I was able to see on a daily basis the work of an organization that campaigns for fundamental rights such as the promotion of women in society or to counter environmental degradation.

The internship with the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights really enriched my learning about the political situation and inequalities in Tunisia.

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always dreamed of working in an NGO and carrying out international humanitarian missions.

After 12 weeks of internship, I realize that my choice was a wise one: I was able to strengthen my knowledge and learn more about Tunisia and the defense of human rights in general.

I think the most important thing to take away from my experience is that my contribution as a student and volunteer has enabled me to learn about a given culture and contribute to improving respect for human rights.

The opportunity that the University of Ottawa offers its students is a golden chance to navigate the complexities of the job market.

It’s incredible how quickly time flies—I can’t believe I’m just a few weeks away from the end of my internship, as I remember the beginning like it was yesterday!

As a final thought, I can say today—after nearly two months of remote internship—that this experience aligns with a cognitive learning theory.
