Job Description:
Our Certified Personal Trainers are responsible for creating and delivering safe and effective exercise programs for healthy or medically cleared individuals or groups. The personal trainer establishes realistic goals, and then designs, tailors and implements a fitness program that will motivate clients through each session. As a professional in the fitness field, the personal trainer will coach their clients by demonstrating and teaching safe and proper techniques, will conduct fitness assessment and track performance goals as well as supervise the client鈥檚 workout sessions. The personal trainer may conduct training in group settings.
SKILLS/ REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in the areas of personal training &/or exercise physiology
- Valid level 1 Personal Training certification by an accredited association (CanFitPro, SPI, NCSA, CSEP, etc鈥)
- Valid CPR certification
- Valid First aid certification
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possess excellent client-services skills, communication skills, strong teaching skills, ability to answer questions, and the ability to accommodate client鈥檚 need;
- Possess the ability to design, create and adjust training programs to accommodate their client鈥檚 needs;
- Possess the ability to work a flexible schedule. (weekends, weekdays, early morning until late evening);
- Possess the ability to complete all requested questionnaires to efficiently tailor fitness programs to each client;
- Reports any equipment malfunction to the appropriate supervisor;
- Knows the rules and regulations of the facility, relays them to all clients and enforces them.
- Is prepared to respond to an emergency by using current university procedures;
- Is aware of literature and trends in fitness and fitness-related fields;
- Encourages safety and proper form at all times.

Job Description:
As a Gee-Gees Camps Counselor, it is your responsibility to uphold all camp values by delivering quality programming while creating a safe and dynamic atmosphere for all. Camp Counselors dedicate their summer to providing a fun, dynamic and supportive environment for camp children, youth, and their families.
RESPONSIBILITIES( NOT LIMITED TO)
- Attend and complete all Mandatory Trainings (May-June, June)
- Complete understanding of all camp policies and procedures and child-care management by actively performing all daily duties align with these practices as outlined in the Camp Handbook and in Training.
- Day-to-Day delivery and participation of all camp programs and activities (Virtual or in-person)
- Actively provide a fun and interactive camp environment for all while actively ensuring the care and upmost safety and security for children and youth ages 5 鈥 17 in all camp areas.
- Practice confidentiality when being trusted with any camper personal or family information.
- Report, complete paperwork as needed (Incident/Accident reports, behavioural forms, logs etc.)
- Demonstrate maturity, sound judgement, leadership, and professionalism always
- Collaborate, support, and empower your co-workers and peers
- Plan, facilitate, and lead activities throughout the day and ensure proper clean up of those activities.
- Be in constant communication with your Head Counselor, Co-Counselors and Coordinators.
- Arrive to camp on-time, clean, in the camp uniform.
- Be a positive Role Model
SKILLS/ REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Background and Competency in Sports and/or Recreation and/or Leadership Development
- Leadership and ability to work as a part if a dynamic team
- Language Skills: Bilingual, English & French 鈥 Oral, written, and comprehension
- Adequate access to a wi-fi network to be available for interactive virtual meetings, trainings, and facilitations throughout the duration of the summer.
- Strong Assets: Experience working in a camp environment and with children
- Provided: All camp staff will be required to take a Safeguard Certification during training.
POSITION PRE-REQUISITES: Must be willing to obtain prior to camp training
- Standard First-Aid CPR/AED Training Certification
- Valid Police record check (Vulnerable Sector)
CAMP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gee-Gees Camps offer a variety of programs during the summer including Recreational, Culinary, Leadership Development, and Specialized Sports Camps. Head Counselors are given ample planning time in training and will be expected to plan and execute programs they are assigned to for the duration of the summer.

Head Counselors provide guidance and program support to their camp counselor team.
