This guide was developed for Faculty members and contains valuable information, endless resources, and enables you to connect with your peers. The services provided by the Office of Faculty Affairs will be available to you throughout your career with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

Resources

The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) offers an exclusive affinity program that aims to provide OMA members across the province with special rates and services tailored to members' needs and preferences.

Human Resources

The role of the Human Resources (HR) team at the Faculty of Medicine includes ensuring the consistent application of University policies and procedures and providing high level services across the Faculty and its departments.

Francophone Affairs

Since its creation in 1995, the Office of Francophone Affairs has been the principal agent in the development of training programs offered in French at the Faculty of Medicine, including the undergraduate program, the postdoctoral program and continuing medical education.

French courses - Fall & Winter sessions

In collaboration with the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute, the Faculty of Medicine's Affaires francophones is happy to provide the following French as a Second Language courses during the Fall and Winter sessions. Please note that the information about theses courses will be available at the end of the Summer.

Health Force Ontario Marketing and Recruitment Agency (HFO MRA) supports the government's health workforce objectives and contributes to the planning, recruitment, retention, transition, and distribution of health practitioners in Ontario.

Library Services

Provide group or individual consultations for faculty members or students to help them at any stage of the research process, including:
- Finding literature for your research topic;
- Accessing the full-text of articles, on or off-campus;
- Creating alerts for your research topic;
- Demonstrating how to use bibliographic software, such as RefWorks;
- Finding impact factors and working on citation analysis.

Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI)

As a new Canadian standard bearer for official languages and bilingualism, OLBI strengthens and promotes education and research in the fields of teaching, evaluation and language policy design. It also brings together the University of Ottawa's experts in official languages and bilingualism in four areas:

- Teaching;
- Research;
- Testing and evaluation;
- Development and promotion.

Medical Council of Canada (MCC)

The Medical Council of Canada (MCC) strives to achieve the highest level of medical care for Canadians through excellence in evaluation of physicians.

The MCC maintains the , in which medical graduates are inscribed when they fulfill the MCC's requirements. Additionally, the MCC supports to ensure it remains at the forefront of innovation in medical assessment.

Tuition exemption

The Tuition Fee Financial Support Program for Dependents of the Faculty of Medicine Teaching Staff was approved by the University of Ottawa Admin Committee on March 9, 2005 and subsequently came into effect on July 1, 2005.

UNIWeb eCV

UniWeb, a centralized bilingual curriculum vitae (CV) tool for academics, is being introduced campus-wide. The tool is an intuitive and user-oriented web application that professors and researchers will find quicker and easier to use when entering and maintaining CV information, as well as exporting, reusing and saving information in multiple formats.
