Faculty Priorities

The Faculty of Science is a place where students ask “what if?” instead of “what is.” We encourage and empower bold minds to push boundaries; and ignite a drive – within students as well as the ways in which they learn – towards innovation. With a focus on six key research areas, you can help us tackle some of the great scientific challenges of our time:

Entrepreneurship in Science

We need to inspire students to combine their scientific curiosity with an entrepreneur’s mindset! The Entrepreneurship Fund allows them to develop projects that can be brought to market to solve real-world challenges. It gives them access to an entrepreneur in residence for guidance and support.

International Mobility Scholarships

In a world in which there seem to be so many divisions and increasingly complex challenges, these scholarships break down barriers, cross borders and open minds.

Help to solve some of the world’s most complex sustainability challenges

Citizen science to the rescue! Scientists and researchers are collaborating with the public or external partners to make an impact on an important societal issue.

Create hands-on learning for students at the bioGARAGE

Since the completion of the human genome project, we have entered an era of unprecedented breakthrough and innovation in molecular biology (i.e. mRNA!) dubbed the DNA Revolution. bioGARAGE will be a regional leader in this movement by serving as a hub for students, faculty, and industry; with space in the new STEM Complex, this unique lab will enable educational exploration.
