Prof. Meredeth Turshen from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University joined the HRREC for a period of 4 months. Prof. Turshen鈥檚 research interests include international health, particularly African women鈥檚 health, with a focus on public health policy. A second interest is the impact of war on women. Her research while at the University of Ottawa was on the role of women in war economies; Prof. Turshen examined the cases of Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
