The Ontario government regulates Canadian students鈥 tuition fees for universities in the province, whether they reside in Ontario or elsewhere in the country. Its framework sets out the maximum increases allowed and the rules for applying them, which vary depending on several criteria.
Changes for 2025-2026
Undergraduates
In accordance with Ontario government directives, tuition fees for Ontario students will remain unchanged, except for an increase in tuition for students enrolling in first year (or the equivalent) or returning for second year or higher (or the equivalent) in the following undergraduate programs:
- Increase of 3.04% for Bachelor of Applied Sciences at the Faculty of Engineering.
- Increase of 7.5% for undergraduate dual fast-track degree programs from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science.
- Increase of 7.28% for students enrolled in the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section programs, except for the National Law Program.
- Increase of 7.5% for all Telfer School of Management programs.
Graduate programs
- Tuition fees for students enrolled in master鈥檚 and doctoral programs will remain unchanged.

Hypothetical increase:
- 5% for new students
- 2% for returning students
In this example, starting with 33.01 units, tuition fees associated with each level of progress in your program of study are calculated from the previous year鈥檚 fees for the same progress level (A is based on A of the previous year, B on B, etc.).
